Overview

Phala Network, a confidential-computing project originally built as a Polkadot parachain, moved its operations to an Ethereum layer 2. Migration phases began in October 2024 and Phala's Ethereum L2 went live in January 2025, ahead of the expiry of its Polkadot parachain lease in November 2025. The community voted to approve the full migration, which shifted staking, governance and confidential compute to the Ethereum-aligned stack and introduced an ERC-20 representation of PHA.
