New Zealand Inflation Accelerates to 4.1% on Soaring Fuel Costs
New Zealand's annual inflation accelerated to 4.1% in the June quarter, the highest since December 2023 and above the RBNZ's 3.9% forecast and its 1-3% target band. Petrol, up 27.5% year on year, accounted for almost a quarter of the annual increase; excluding fuel, CPI would have risen just 2.9%.
