Taco Bell Traffic Sinks After Lettuce Tied to Parasite Cases
Taco Bell's US foot traffic fell about 19% below its normal Friday average on July 17 after a cyclospora outbreak was linked to lettuce from supplier Taylor Farms, versus a 1.9% decline for fast food overall. The chain pulled all Taylor Farms lettuce, and federal officials warned against Taco Bell lettuce in Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia amid more than 7,000 confirmed or suspected illnesses.
