China FDI to India May Not Rise Even as Rules Eased, Report Says

A Natixis report said India's March 2026 easing of foreign investment rules, allowing non-controlling stakes of up to 10% without prior approval, is unlikely to spark a surge in Chinese capital. China accounts for about 0.32% of FDI into India, down from roughly 2% in 2020, and investors still risk curbs being retightened if tensions flare.
