Nike Soccer Boss Says World Cup Ending Wasn’t ‘What We Dreamed’
In an internal memo, Nike Football VP and general manager Camilo Andrade told staff "I know the ending was not what we dreamed" after Adidas-sponsored Spain and Argentina met in the World Cup final while Nike's France and England went out in the semis. Nike also sold out of US men's jerseys within two weeks and did not restock until after the team's July 6 loss to Belgium.
