From holding caps to real-world use: the Bank of England's stablecoin pivot is a payments story - Electronic Payments International

The Bank of England dropped planned individual and business holding caps on sterling stablecoins - previously proposed at 20,000 pounds and 10 million pounds - replacing them with a 40 billion pound issuance ceiling per systemic stablecoin. It also let issuers hold up to 70% of backing assets in short-term government debt, up from 60%, with feedback open until September 22.
