DOJ Probes Harvard Financial Aid, Alleging China Donor Influence
The Justice Department opened a compliance review of Harvard's financial aid, alleging China-based donors directed their gifts toward aid programs for students of particular nationalities in ways that could exclude Americans, potentially violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Harvard has disclosed nearly $4.5 billion in foreign funding, $630 million of it from China, its largest foreign source.
