New Jersey Says Software Error Registered 6,600 Noncitizens
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill said a Motor Vehicle Commission software error wrongly registered about 6,600 noncitizens to vote in 2023 and 2024, of whom fewer than 400 actually cast ballots. The state is removing the registrations, replacing the system vendor and investigating.
