Overview
ETHV is the VanEck Ethereum ETF, a US spot ether exchange-traded product launched in June 2024 by VanEck, the New York-headquartered investment manager founded in 1955 that pioneered gold and foreign-growth investing and entered the ETF business in 2006. The fund gives investors spot ether exposure in a conventional brokerage wrapper rather than requiring self-custody. On fees, VanEck launched ETHV with zero fees through 22 July 2025 or the first $1.5 billion in AUM, whichever came first, with a 0.20% sponsor fee applying thereafter — an aggressive introductory structure mirroring the fee war among the first US spot crypto ETFs. The fund files with the SEC as a commodity-style trust (Form 424B3 prospectus supplements are on EDGAR under CIK 1860788). ETHV is frequently compared against iShares' competing ether product on cost and tracking. ETHV launched in June 2024 as part of the first cohort of US spot ether ETFs, using a fee waiver running to 22 July 2025 or $1.5 billion in assets.
