Overview
Aber is a joint central bank digital currency (CBDC) project between the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) and the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE). It was designed to explore the use of a dual-issued digital currency for cross-border settlements between the two countries. The project aimed to assess the technical and operational feasibility of a CBDC for interbank transactions.
