Plasma is an EVM-compatible layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoin payments, whose mainnet beta launched on 25 September 2025. Its headline features are zero-fee USDT transfers, support for custom gas tokens, and a Bitcoin bridge, with the chain periodically anchoring to Bitcoin. It uses PlasmaBFT consensus for sub-second finality and targets remittances, merchant payments and yield use cases.
