Taiko chain
Overview
Taiko is a permissionless Ethereum layer-2 built as a based rollup: instead of running its own sequencer, block proposal is driven by Ethereum validators, so Taiko inherits liveness and censorship resistance from Ethereum layer 1. It implements a Type-1 zkEVM, meaning full Ethereum equivalence — Solidity, ABIs and eth_* JSON-RPC methods behave identically, so tools like viem, ethers and Foundry work with no changes. The network has a native TAIKO (TKO) token used for ecosystem participation and governance.
Within the DeFi Intel graph, Taiko connects to 17 tracked entities, most strongly to Ethereum, USD Coin, Tether USD.
