Overview
Anchorpoint Financial is a Hong Kong stablecoin issuer set up as a joint venture between Standard Chartered, telecom operator HKT and Web3 company Animoca Brands. It was formed to apply for a licence under Hong Kong's stablecoin regime and issues HKDAP ("HKD At Par"), a token intended to hold a 1:1 peg to the Hong Kong dollar and backed by HKD-denominated reserve assets. Test transfers of HKDAP were run on Ethereum mainnet with partners including OSL Group and Futu's PantherTrade. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority named Anchorpoint and HSBC among the first licensed stablecoin issuers under the new framework.
