Block One company
Overview
Block.one is a software company that developed the EOSIO blockchain protocol used to launch the EOS blockchain in 2018. Co-founded by Brendan Blumer and Dan Larimer, it settled SEC charges over its roughly $4 billion EOS token sale in 2019. Larimer departed in 2021 and the company stepped back from EOSIO development, which was taken over by the community-led EOS Network Foundation. Block.one's primary venture today is the institutional crypto exchange Bullish, which went public on the New York Stock Exchange (ticker BLSH) in 2025.
