Overview
Candide is an open-source account-abstraction toolkit and smart wallet project. Candide Wallet itself is an open-source, self-custodial smart wallet built on ERC-4337, and the broader Candide product set lets developers build smart wallets supporting both ERC-4337 and EIP-7702 account abstraction. Its capabilities cover the account-abstraction feature set: gas sponsorship via paymasters, bundled/batched transactions, social recovery, native passkeys and biometric login using WebAuthn, and modular plugins. The stack has three main pieces — AbstractionKit, a TypeScript SDK for building and sending UserOperations with first-class support for Safe Accounts and Simple Accounts; a modular Python ERC-4337 bundler; and supporting contracts including a social recovery module and paymaster contracts. Candide emphasises that its smart contract accounts are open source, audited and formally verified, and its code is published under the candidelabs GitHub organisation. Candide began around ERC-4337 smart accounts and has since extended to EIP-7702, positioning itself as a toolset covering both account-abstraction standards rather than a single wallet app.
