Crypto.com is best known publicly for its marketing, including a 20-year, roughly $700 million naming rights deal for the Los Angeles arena formerly called Staples Center, signed in November 2021. Founded as Monaco in Hong Kong in June 2016, the company rebranded to Crypto.com in 2018 after acquiring the domain, moved its base to Singapore, and expanded aggressively through sponsorship - Formula One (around $100 million), the FIFA World Cup, UFC, UEFA Champions League and the Crypto.com Arena naming rights - with Matt Damon as brand ambassador.
