Overview
IMC (IMC Trading / IMC Financial Markets) is a proprietary trading firm and market maker founded in 1989 by two traders on the floor of the Amsterdam options exchange and still headquartered in Amsterdam. It provides liquidity in equities, options, ETFs and other instruments using its own capital and automated trading technology, and employs on the order of 1,600 people under CEO and chairman Robert Defares. IMC runs a dedicated crypto team covering spot, perpetuals, futures and options both on and off chain, trading on dozens of global exchanges, and has acquired Netherlands-based crypto trading technology firm Altas Technologies.
