Overview

Backed Finance is a Swiss tokenization issuer that turns traditional securities into transferable blockchain tokens backed 1:1 by the underlying asset held with a regulated Swiss custodian. Its first product line, launched in 2022, was bTokens — ERC-20 tokens such as bCOIN and bNIU that track individual stocks and ETFs, initially on Ethereum and later on EVM chains including Polygon, Base and Gnosis. Backed subsequently issued xStocks, a range of tokenized US equities and ETFs on Solana distributed through venues including Kraken for non-US users, covering tickers such as AAPL, NVDA, TSLA and SPY. The business operates under Switzerland's DLT Act, which provides a statutory framework for ledger-based securities.
