Overview
Galaxy Ventures is the early-stage venture investing arm of Galaxy Digital (now Galaxy), the Mike Novogratz-founded digital-asset financial services firm, managed inside Galaxy Asset Management. Galaxy had made venture investments off its own balance sheet since 2018; Galaxy Ventures Fund I, LP was the first time it accepted outside capital for that activity. The fund invests in early-stage companies across crypto protocols, software infrastructure and financialized applications underpinning the onchain economy. Galaxy Asset Management announced an initial close of $113 million in July 2024 against a $150 million target. On 26 June 2025 Galaxy announced the final close of the oversubscribed fund at over $175 million in capital commitments, exceeding that target. Galaxy invested in crypto startups from its balance sheet beginning in 2018. It announced the $113 million initial close of Galaxy Ventures Fund I in July 2024, then a final close of more than $175 million on 26 June 2025 — its first external-capital venture vehicle.
