Overview

Avraham Eisenberg is the trader behind the October 2022 exploit of Mango Markets, a Solana-based decentralized exchange. According to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, he used two anonymous accounts to build large leveraged positions in MNGO/USDC swap contracts, then rapidly bought MNGO on three exchanges feeding Mango's price oracle, driving the token's price up more than thirteenfold within about 30 minutes and using the inflated collateral value to drain over $110 million in digital assets. He returned roughly $67 million and retained about $47 million; the CFTC described the case as its first enforcement action involving oracle manipulation on a decentralized platform.
