MetaMorpho Vaults product
Overview
MetaMorpho Vaults (now generally branded Morpho Vaults) are ERC-4626 tokenised vaults built on top of the Morpho Blue lending primitive. Each vault is tied to one loan asset and aggregates depositor liquidity, allocating it across multiple isolated Morpho Blue markets according to a curator-defined strategy, so passive lenders earn borrowing interest without managing risk themselves. Vaults also support ERC-2612 permit signatures. Governance is split across four roles — owner, curator, guardian and allocator: the curator enables markets and sets per-market supply caps, while allocators move funds between enabled markets within those caps. Risk controls include a maximum of 30 enabled markets per vault and a minimum 24-hour timelock on actions that could harm depositors, such as enabling a high-exposure market. The contracts are open source under morpho-org on GitHub, with later iterations released as Morpho Vaults V1.1 and Morpho Vault V2. MetaMorpho launched as the vault layer over Morpho Blue in early 2024 and was among the first curated-vault systems in DeFi. Successor repositories metamorpho-v1.1 (Morpho Vaults V1.1) and vault-v2 (Morpho Vault V2) followed, and the product is now marketed simply as Morpho Vaults.
