Buildernet protocol
Overview
BuilderNet is a decentralized block-building network for Ethereum, announced on 26 November 2024 and initially operated jointly by Flashbots, Beaverbuild and Nethermind. It was created in response to concentration in Ethereum block building, where a small number of operators produced the large majority of blocks. BuilderNet runs builder instances inside Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) so that multiple independent operators can collaborate on block construction while transaction order flow stays private, and it shares MEV revenue with contributors on a pro-rata basis. Its stated goals are to neutralise exclusive order flow deals, redistribute MEV and improve censorship resistance.
