Overview

Bunni is a decentralized exchange protocol on Ethereum that implements concentrated liquidity, similar to Uniswap v3, but tokenizes liquidity positions into fungible Bunni tokens. These tokens represent the LP position and can be freely transferred, traded, or integrated with other DeFi protocols, improving composability and secondary use cases.

As of 2026-07-15, Bunni is no longer operational. On 2 September 2025 the protocol was exploited for roughly $8.4M through a rounding-direction bug in its withdrawal and liquidity-distribution logic, affecting its Ethereum and Unichain deployments. In October 2025 the team announced it was shutting down, citing prohibitive audit and recovery costs, and directed users to withdraw remaining assets.

Within the DeFi Intel graph, Bunni connects to 1 tracked entity, most strongly to Ethereum.

Frequently asked questions

How does Bunni differ from Uniswap v3?

Bunni differs primarily by tokenizing concentrated liquidity positions into ERC-20 Bunni tokens, allowing LP positions to be treated as fungible assets that can be moved, sold, or used as collateral in external protocols, unlike Uniswap v3's non-fungible positions.

What are Bunni tokens used for?

Bunni tokens represent a user's share of a specific concentrated liquidity pool and can be traded on secondary markets, used as collateral in lending protocols, or deposited into other DeFi applications, providing liquidity providers with additional flexibility beyond holding the position.

Is Bunni still operational?

No. After an ~$8.4M exploit on 2 September 2025 that hit its Ethereum and Unichain deployments, the Bunni team announced in October 2025 that it was shutting down, citing recovery costs, and directed users to withdraw remaining assets.

What is Bunni connected to?

In the DeFi Intel knowledge graph, Bunni is linked to 1 other tracked entity, most strongly to Ethereum.
