Overview

CaixaBank is one of Spain's largest banks and a significant European retail and payments institution. It obtained a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) authorisation under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, completing the set of major Spanish banks to hold one, and offers custody, order execution and transfers of crypto assets through its banking platform and its imagin app. It also participates in Qivalis, a consortium of European banks developing a euro-denominated stablecoin as a blockchain-based payment instrument.
