Overview
Curve Ng — properly Curve Stableswap-NG — is the next-generation implementation of Curve Finance's Stableswap invariant, the low-slippage AMM curve designed for assets that should trade near parity. Its headline change is permissionless deployment: anyone can deploy Stableswap plain pools (up to 8 coins) and metapools (2 coins) through a factory contract that also serves as the registry, using blueprint contracts to instantiate pool implementations chosen according to the base pool configuration. The bigger functional advance is native handling of non-standard token types that broke earlier Curve pools: NG pools support rate-oraclized tokens such as wstETH, ERC-4626 vault tokens such as sDAI, rebasing tokens such as stETH, and ordinary plain tokens (for example a WETH:stETH pair). It also exposes an `exchange_received` method that allows more efficient routing by settling against tokens already transferred in, though that method is deliberately disabled for pools containing rebasing tokens, where balance accounting cannot be trusted. Stableswap-NG is written in Vyper and is the standard factory used for new Curve stable pools across the chains Curve supports. Stableswap-NG replaced Curve's earlier per-pool, governance-gated deployment model with a permissionless factory, and extended the original Stableswap design so that yield-bearing, rate-oracle and rebasing tokens can be pooled natively rather than through wrappers.
