GMX token
Overview
GMX is a decentralized spot and perpetual exchange on Arbitrum and Avalanche. It uses multi-asset liquidity pools — isolated GM pools in GMX V2 (the earlier V1 used a single GLP pool) — to facilitate low-slippage swaps and leverage trading. The GMX token is the native governance and fee-sharing token of the protocol.
Within the DeFi Intel graph, GMX connects to 6 tracked entities, most strongly to Arbitrum, GMX, GMX V2 Perps.

Frequently asked questions
What is GMX?
GMX is both the native token and the name of a decentralized exchange (perpetual DEX) on Arbitrum and Avalanche. The token entitles holders to fee revenue and governance rights.
How does GMX's multi-asset pool work?
In GMX V2, isolated GM pools each hold a basket of assets (e.g., ETH, BTC, stablecoins) and provide liquidity for swaps and backing for leveraged trading; the earlier V1 used a single GLP pool. Traders pay fees to liquidity providers and to GMX stakers.
What are the use cases for the GMX token?
The GMX token can be staked to earn a share of protocol fees, and it grants voting power in the GMX DAO governance.
What is GMX connected to?
In the DeFi Intel knowledge graph, GMX is linked to 6 other tracked entities, most strongly to Arbitrum, GMX, GMX V2 Perps.
