Overview

HONEY is Berachain's native stablecoin, soft-pegged to the US dollar and fully collateralized by approved assets. Users mint HONEY by depositing collateral -- accepted types include USDC, BYUSD, USDT0 and USDe -- through vault contracts coordinated by the HoneyFactory contract, and redeem it back for that collateral, paying variable mint and redemption fees depending on the asset. A safety feature called Basket Mode activates when a collateral asset depegs, switching redemptions to a proportional share of all collateral rather than a single asset. HONEY supports EIP-2612 permits and EIP-3009 transfers, enabling gasless transactions where a third party submits the transaction.

Within the DeFi Intel graph, Honey connects to 9 tracked entities, most strongly to Berachain, Berachain, Hivemapper.
