Blast chain
Overview
Blast is an EVM-compatible optimistic rollup on Ethereum whose distinguishing feature is native yield: ETH and stablecoins held on the chain earn a return automatically rather than sitting idle. The documentation states baseline rates of 4% on ETH and 5% on stablecoins. ETH yield comes from Ethereum L1 staking, routed at the time of writing through Lido, and is passed to users by making ETH itself auto-rebasing on the L2 — not a wrapped or derivative ERC-20, but the native gas asset. Stablecoin yield comes from MakerDAO's on-chain T-bill protocol and is delivered through USDB, Blast's native stablecoin. Blast also programmatically shares net gas revenue with the decentralised applications deployed on it, rather than retaining all sequencer income. The docs note that community governance may in future supplement or replace the current yield sources with alternative protocols.
Within the DeFi Intel graph, Blast connects to 37 tracked entities, most strongly to Ethereum, Renzo, Uniswap V3.
