Overview
Dogechain is an EVM-compatible smart contract network positioned as a layer-2 for Dogecoin, bringing DeFi, NFT, gaming and general smart contract functionality to DOGE holders. Users bridge Dogecoin to the network in wrapped form and use it as gas, so DOGE becomes usable inside decentralized applications that the Dogecoin proof-of-work chain itself does not support. The chain was bootstrapped using the Polygon Edge framework and runs a proof-of-stake validator set. It is not developed by the Dogecoin core project.
