Overview
Fuse is an EVM-compatible, proof-of-stake layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for consumer payments and financial applications, running since 2019 under the tagline 'last mile payments, onchain'. Rather than positioning itself as a general-purpose smart contract platform, Fuse sells a vertically integrated stack to businesses that want to launch wallets, payment apps and DeFi products, and describes itself as the only chain-to-consumer stack. Its published performance figures are sub-two-second finality, 99.9% uptime and transaction costs of about $0.0001 - roughly a thousand times cheaper than Ethereum - and it reports 135 million transactions processed since launch across more than 150 ecosystem projects. FUSE is the native token, staked to secure the proof-of-stake network and earn rewards. Consumer applications built on Fuse include the neobank Solid, the Southeast Asian digital dollar wallet Freedom Wallet, and Voltage Finance, the network's native DeFi hub for swaps and lending. Fuse has been running since 2019 as a payments-oriented EVM layer-1 and has grown to more than 150 ecosystem projects and 135 million transactions, with account abstraction tooling (FuseBox) and consumer apps such as Solid, Freedom Wallet and Voltage Finance built on top.
