Certora is a smart contract security company built around formal verification — mathematically proving properties of code rather than sampling behaviour through tests. Its flagship product, the Certora Prover, compares smart contract bytecode against a written specification and checks every possible contract state and execution path for violations, and is designed to run inside a development pipeline on every commit. Alongside the self-service Prover, Certora sells audits performed by a dedicated team of formal verification experts who write the specification rules themselves, and it runs community contests through crowdsourced audit platforms such as Code4rena. Another product, Gambit, extends the toolkit.
