Overview
elizaOS, commonly referred to as the Eliza framework, is an open-source agentic operating system for building, orchestrating and deploying AI agents, maintained under the elizaos GitHub organisation and associated with the ai16z project. Written in JavaScript and TypeScript with an npm-based plugin architecture, it lets a single agent be defined once and deployed across interfaces including Discord, Telegram, X and blockchain networks. It supports multi-agent coordination through constructs called Worlds and Rooms and LLM-driven tool calls, and has attracted a large open-source contributor base.
