Overview
Olas, formerly Autonolas, is a decentralised protocol for creating, co-owning and monetising autonomous AI agents, founded in 2021 and among the earliest crypto-and-AI projects. It provides the composable Olas Stack for building autonomous agents and decentralised services such as automation, oracles and co-owned AI, plus the Olas Protocol, which economically incentivises developers and operators to create and run those agents. OLAS is the native utility token used to coordinate and reward the parties involved. Its consumer-facing product is Pearl, launched as a desktop application in early 2025 — initially for Mac and later Windows — which the project describes as the 'agent app store': it lets individuals own and operate their own Olas agents and earn staking rewards while doing so. The core contributor raised $13.8 million in a round led by 1kx, announced alongside Pearl, and simultaneously launched the Olas Accelerator offering up to $1 million in grants and OLAS token rewards to developers building agents on the platform. Founded in 2021 as Autonolas and later rebranded Olas, the project built the Olas Stack and Protocol for autonomous agents. In early 2025 it launched Pearl, a desktop 'agent app store', alongside a $13.8 million raise led by 1kx and an accelerator offering up to $1 million in grants and OLAS rewards.
