Overview

Starcluster is an initiative announced by Akash Network founder Greg Osuri to build a globally distributed mesh of high-density compute for AI workloads, positioning decentralised supply as an alternative to hyperscaler cloud. It combines datacenter-class providers with programmes to widen participation, including provider incentive pilots aimed at recent NVIDIA hardware such as B200, RTX PRO 6000 and 5090 GPUs on multi-month contracts, and Homenode, which lowers the barrier for individuals with consumer GPUs to become providers. The aim is to grow permissionless GPU and CPU capacity available through the Akash marketplace.

Within the DeFi Intel graph, Akash Starcluster connects to 1 tracked entity, most strongly to Akash Network.
