Portal protocol
Overview
Portal — usually called Portal Bridge — is the multichain token transfer application in the Wormhole ecosystem, letting users move tokens across blockchains rather than being an independent bridge protocol in its own right. Wormhole is the underlying infrastructure: Portal is the user-facing dApp built on top of Wormhole's cross-chain messaging, which is validated by Wormhole's Guardian network. It supports more than 30 blockchain networks, with Ethereum, Solana, Sui, Base and Arbitrum among those explicitly named, and more than 100 tokens including USDC, ETH and SOL. Alongside general cross-chain transfers, Portal ships dedicated flows for particular assets — a USDC bridge and a tBTC bridge — plus a rewards programme. The service itself is free to users, with costs limited to underlying network fees. Portal is listed as one of Wormhole's core products alongside Native Token Transfers (NTT), messaging and queries, settlement, and Connect.
Within the DeFi Intel graph, Portal connects to 30 tracked entities, most strongly to Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum.
