Overview
Union Square Ventures (USV) is a New York venture capital firm co-founded by Fred Wilson, known for deliberately small funds — typically under $300 million — and a tight partnership that has backed more than 130 companies including Twitter, Etsy and Coinbase. Its most consequential crypto investment was Coinbase: USV first invested at 20 cents a share in 2013, putting in $2.5 million, a position that grew to be worth $4.6 billion.
